Pentre Ifan- The Floating Stone. The largest and best preserved Neolithic dolmen in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Part of my Ancient Stones series. I’m drawn to the immovable silence of neolithic stones, what they have represented to generations of people, and the fact that they will remain when we are gone. There is something very mythical to the neolithic. I sat up on the hill next to this stone last year, and looked out at the coast, and felt an immense sense of calm and otherness, which often is very much not what I feel in the modern world. An amazing monument.
